• Challenges mount for controversial waste pits in Marion County (djcoregon.com) — An unlicensed waste pit on farmland in Aurora remains shut down while the property owner appeals Marion County’s decision that the operation is an illegal dump, not a farm use. State environmental regulators have cited both the Aurora and Hubbard pits, and county commissioners will decide in July whether the Aurora site can try to restart under farm-use rules.
   

• ODOT warns of I-5 Boone Bridge lanes closures this summer (youroregonnews.com) — Major overnight lane closures are coming to I-5’s Boone Bridge for at least 15 weeks, and one key detour will send traffic along 99E through Aurora toward Oregon City. Expect heavier traffic on local roads as ODOT replaces failing bridge joints and conducts seismic-related research, with exact start dates still dependent on weather and scheduling.
