• New School Year Brings New School in Beaverton (kxl.com) — Students in Beaverton are starting classes this week in the brand-new Beaverton High School, a $250 million campus designed with more natural light, better HVAC, and safer, more comfortable spaces. Teachers say new courtyards and upgraded facilities will transform daily life for students and staff and better reflect the community's commitment to education. 
• Pipes as power plants: How cities can use their water systems to generate clean energy (smartcitiesdive.com) — Beaverton has turned its Sexton Mountain Pump Station into a small clean-power plant, adding an in-pipe hydropower turbine expected to cover about 27% of the facility's electricity use. The project, designed to allow a future second turbine, is part of a broader Oregon push to use water systems for long-lasting, resilient renewable energy.
• U.S. News high school rankings 2026: Where Oregon schools stand nationally (oregonlive.com) — Beaverton families can celebrate the International School of Beaverton ranking 77th nationally and remaining Oregon's top high school in U.S. News' 2026 list. Beaverton Academy of Science and Engineering also placed highly, helping highlight how local students stack up against nearly 18,000 public high schools across the country on college readiness, test performance, and graduation rates.
