1. Canby's old City Hall nominated for national register (woodburnindependent.com) — Canby’s 1937 City Hall building at 182 N. Holly St. is being considered for the National Register of Historic Places, and state officials will review the nomination June 26. Residents can follow the process or attend the meeting virtually via Zoom, with questions directed to city staff as the community works to preserve this historic landmark.

2. ODOT warns of I-5 Boone Bridge lanes closures this summer (youroregonnews.com) — Drivers in and around Canby should prepare for heavier traffic on Highway 99E as ODOT’s long-term Boone Bridge lane closures will send a key detour route through town on the way to Oregon City and I‑205. The overnight work, expected to last at least 15 weeks, replaces failing bridge joints and includes seismic research, with emergency access plans in place for nearby communities.

3. Cooling centers open throughout Clackamas County (clackamas.us) — Canby residents without air conditioning are urged to use nearby cooling centers as Clackamas County prepares for potentially 100-degree temperatures June 13–16. The county shares safety tips for people and pets, and directs residents to an online list of cooling center locations and possible overnight shelter options for vulnerable neighbors.

4. Canby Garden Club names pair of scholarship recipients (woodburnindependent.com) — Two recent Canby High School graduates, Geneva Diggles and Isabella Capra, have each received $1,000 scholarships from the Canby Garden Club to support their college plans. Both credit time spent gardening with family for shaping their work ethic and future goals, from nursing and volleyball to agriculture and sustainable outdoor careers, and say they hope to carry those lessons forward.
