• Tourists Try To Ride Elk Which Are Taking Over Beaches In Coastal Oregon Town (cowboystatedaily.com) — Elk have become a regular—and sometimes risky—presence right on Cannon Beach’s shoreline, drawing crowds of visitors who too often try to pet, feed, or even sit children on them. Wildlife officials and local leaders stress that these Roosevelt elk are truly wild animals, can injure people and dogs, and are difficult to manage within city limits despite their growing numbers.
