• Police: Gresham mom leaves 3 young kids in car to drink tequila, mimosas in bar (katu.com) — Police say a Gresham mother was arrested after officers found her three young children alone in an SUV outside Division Sports Pub just after midnight, while she was inside reportedly drinking multiple alcoholic beverages. She now faces three counts of second-degree child neglect and is scheduled to return to court in early October. 
• Barlow volleyball's Bailey Armstrong hits winner in rivalry sweep (theoutlookonline.com) — Barlow's volleyball team swept rival Gresham in three sets, capped by junior Bailey Armstrong's emphatic match-winning kill against the visiting Gophers. The match showcased a deep Barlow roster, including standout seniors and several impressive freshmen, while Gresham players also turned in strong performances ahead of the rematch scheduled at Gresham High in October.
• Police K-9 shot, killed on last shift before retirement during deadly officer-involved shooting (kold.com) — Gresham police are investigating a homicide discovered during a welfare check at a Southeast Market Street home, while Portland officers fatally shot the suspected killer near a hotel later that day. A Portland police K-9, Kylo, was also killed in the shootout, and East County detectives are now handling both the Gresham homicide and related investigations.
