• Lead pollution concerns raised near Hillsboro Airport (kgw.com) — Hillsboro residents living near the airport are being warned about elevated lead levels in neighborhood moss samples, prompting fresh concern over long-term exposure, especially for children. A new study links the contamination to leaded aviation fuel, and the Hillsboro City Council has unanimously urged the Port of Portland to speed up the switch to unleaded fuel while residents adopt precautions at home.

• FCC Report 9/6: Nine Licenses Cancelled This Week (radioinsight.com) — A longtime Hillsboro radio presence, AM station 1360 KUIK, has had its license canceled by the FCC after being silent for more than a year. The move is part of a broader federal cleanup of inactive stations nationwide, and means listeners will no longer see KUIK return to the local airwaves under its current license.
