• Eastern Oregon University and Grande Ronde Hospital Announce Partnership to Expand (eou.edu) — Eastern Oregon University students in La Grande will soon receive most medical care through Grande Ronde Hospital and Clinics as the on-campus Student Health Center closes June 12, 2026. The new partnership expands access to local providers, proposes lowering the student health services fee, and keeps counseling services unchanged while EOU boosts support programs to help students navigate insurance and local care options. 
• Northeastern Oregon births: April 15, 2026 (lagrandeobserver.com) — La Grande readers can see who recently delivered at Grande Ronde Hospital, which reported two births on April 7 and 8 to families from Baker City. The roundup also highlights several new arrivals at hospitals in Pendleton, Hermiston, and Umatilla across Northeastern Oregon.
• USDA deputy: Forest Service's move will benefit West (capitalpress.com) — La Grande’s Forest Service research facility will remain open under a major USDA reorganization that moves the agency’s headquarters to Salt Lake City and consolidates research in Fort Collins, Colorado. Federal officials say the shift will improve wildfire response and modernize offices, while some members of Congress worry about workforce losses and reduced influence in Washington, D.C.
