• 'Wonder Is a Lovely Place to Be' gathers the wit and wisdom of Portland author Brian Doyle • Oregon ArtsWatch (orartswatch.org) — Lake Oswego readers can hear editor Mary Miller Doyle discuss her new Brian Doyle collection, "Wonder Is a Lovely Place to Be," at the Lake Oswego Public Library on Nov. 5. The book gathers 365 short pieces of the late Portland writer's wit, wisdom, and art, and Doyle will also appear at several Portland bookstores and the University of Portland this fall.

• Oregon approves $1.25M for ballot drop boxes, tracking (kptv.com) — Lake Oswego's own Senate President Rob Wagner helped approve $1.25 million in emergency funding to expand ballot drop boxes and ballot tracking across Oregon before the next general election. The money will pay for new secure drop sites, statewide rollout of the BallotTrax notification system, and updated notices to inactive voters, aiming to strengthen confidence in vote-by-mail.

• New documentary spotlights local mother's mission to protect kids from online harm (lakeoswegoreview.com) — A Lake Oswego mother's fight to protect kids online is featured in a new documentary, "Your Attention Please," debuting on Apple TV in October. After losing her son Carson to suicide following cyberbullying in Lake Oswego, Kristin Bride has pushed for stronger safeguards and legislation, and the film follows her efforts alongside other advocates working to reduce social media harms.
