📰 News we're reading

• Why beavers are the real stars of this Oregon City watershed restoration project (oregonlive.com) — Work on a tributary feeding Abernethy Creek is reshaping how water flows toward Oregon City, using strategically placed logs so beavers can build stronger dams. The project aims to cool water, boost salmon habitat, and reduce flash flooding and well issues downstream. Over the next four years, crews will also remove invasive plants and add thousands of native trees and shrubs.

• Ridership of new Wilsonville transit line that runs through West Linn exceeds expectations (youroregonnews.com) — A new SMART 10X bus line now links Wilsonville, West Linn, the Oregon City Shopping Center, and Clackamas Town Center, and ridership is already exceeding expectations. Running weekdays, it's become one of the system's busiest routes, especially at Oregon City and major mall stops. Officials say the line is meeting needs for work, recreation, and school access along the corridor.
