• 3 people, 4 pets rescued from car sinking in Oregon City creek after crash (oregonlive.com) — Emergency crews pulled three people and four pets from a car sinking in an Oregon City creek Thursday night after it plunged off South Bradley Road down an embankment. Two people were hospitalized, one person escaped injury, and all four pets were safely rescued as Clackamas Fire and the sheriff's office handled the response and investigation. 
• Tigers no match for Pacers (newberggraphic.com) — Newberg's football team took a tough 37-0 loss to Lakeridge, but local fans may be more interested in an upcoming matchup when Newberg hosts Oregon City on Sept. 18. The Tigers also visit Dallas on Sept. 11 and face Clackamas on Sept. 25, hoping to rebound from Friday's shutout.
