• Philomath's Hernandez clears 6-2 in high jump at midweek meet in Newport (philomathnews.com) — Philomath High track and field athletes turned in strong performances at Wednesday’s tri-meet in Newport, highlighted by sophomore Sammy Hernandez’s personal-record 6-2 high jump and multiple wins from teammates. With several varsity athletes resting, the Warriors still posted top finishes and now turn their attention to Saturday’s John Oliver Invitational in Independence, where field events start at 11 a.m.
