(prlog.org) — Salem shoppers can explore more than 100 vintage and handmade vendors when The Great Junk Hunt returns to the Oregon State Fairgrounds on October 16–17. With food trucks, music, cocktails, and early-bird access, it's a big indoor market day out for anyone hunting unique home décor and gifts close to home.
   

2. Raising Godly Generations Tour Coming to the West Coast (answersingenesis.org) — A national Christian teaching tour on raising "godly generations" is coming to Salem in mid-November, offering free sessions on passing faith to children and views on schooling choices. Local residents can attend the Salem stop by registering in advance through the organizers' events page.
   

3. Wyden, Merkley, Bonamici, Salinas, Hoyle, Dexter Announce $4.3 Million to Support Public Safety Across Oregon (senate.gov) — Salem will see a major boost in services for vulnerable children, with $1 million for Liberty House's medical clinic and $1.03 million for the Oregon CASA Network headquartered in the city. These federal grants, part of a $4.3 million statewide package, aim to expand advocacy, medical care, and safety for abused and neglected kids across Marion, Polk, and other counties.
   

4. New report finds supportive housing programs helped thousands of Oregonians remain housed (ktvz.com) — A new state report spotlights how Permanent Supportive Housing is helping Oregonians stay housed, including residents at Sequoia Crossings in Salem, where stable apartments are paired with on-site support services. For Salem neighbors, it shows how this 2024 development is improving health, stability, and community connections for formerly homeless residents right in your city.
