Man sentenced for violent attack, sexual assault on woman walking to work in Salem (kptv.com) — A 20-year-old man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for kidnapping and sexually assaulting a woman walking to work on Commercial Street Southeast in Salem, and will be on lifetime probation and the sex offender registry. The attack, which happened in June 2025, ended when a passerby intervened, and prosecutors say community members quickly helped the victim and alerted police.

Salem cannery site to go back on the market in coming weeks (salemreporter.com) — A key 13.7-acre riverfront property at the former Truitt Brothers cannery in Salem is headed back on the market, despite having approvals for hundreds of apartments, commercial space, and walking paths. The Truitt family and their brokers say they're seeking a new developer as the Salem City Council continues to weigh a North Waterfront Urban Renewal Area that could shape the site's future.

  • Any dad groups or local father son groups?
    My current partner has a son moving back in and I can tell he needs other dads to talk with ideally in a non alcoholic meet up, geared towards sports… (Nextdoor Brush College)
  • So I am on Cedarcrest Dr so is anyone else having problems with raccoons, there is one that has gotten thru our cat door(for a stray cat we have been taking care of) it dumped over the food dispenser and rip the cord out and apart.
    So we stored all the food in a container it didn't get in last night (has the last 2 nights) we put up a camera and it didn't show anything, but… (Nextdoor Summercrest)
