• Burn ban to take effect in Columbia County (columbiacountyspotlight.com) — A countywide burn ban starting Monday, June 15, will cover the Scappoose Rural Fire Protection District along with all other Columbia County fire districts, restricting open debris burning until further notice. Recreational fires in small, contained fire pits and backyard barbecues are still allowed under strict safety rules, but officials urge residents to avoid burning on dry, windy days.
