• Lincoln County Burn Ban (newportnewstimes.com) — If you live in Siletz, be ready for a countywide debris burn ban running June 15 through October 15 as fire danger rises. The restriction covers only yard debris burning, but local districts, including Siletz Fire, may tighten rules based on conditions, so residents should check directly for any added limits on campfires or outdoor burning.
   

• Marine board sets special session Wednesday in Newport on proposed Siletz rules • Lincoln Chronicle (lincolnchronicle.org) — New rules for boat motors on the Siletz River are moving forward, and you’ll have another chance to weigh in at a special Oregon Marine Board session in Newport this Wednesday. Officials, including the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians, will discuss restricting higher-horsepower motors and banning all motors upstream of Old Mill Park, changes that could significantly affect local fishing access and guide businesses.
