• School Board Does Not Cancel Charter Contract With Siletz Valley School (oregoncoastbreakingnews.com) — Siletz Valley Charter School will stay open for now after a Lincoln County School District vote to terminate its charter failed to reach the required three affirmative votes. The school remains officially out of compliance, but district and Siletz leaders plan continued work on fixes and possible restructuring. Families should expect ongoing oversight and future board action that could reshape public education in Siletz. 
• An Oregon coast town is bringing back its Fourth of July fireworks show (statesmanjournal.com) — Lincoln City is bringing back Fourth of July fireworks in 2026, but shifting the show from Siletz Bay to Devils Lake because of environmental, wildlife, and safety concerns near the Siletz Bay refuge. Siletz-area residents should note that Siletz Bay will instead host a daytime Stars, Stripes and Wildlife celebration, while strict bans on personal fireworks remain in place across the city.
