• 2026 Northern Pikeminnow Sport-Reward Fishery begins May 1 (wa.gov) — Anglers in and around The Dalles can start earning cash May 1 by catching northern pikeminnow, with The Dalles Boat Basin among the registration sites already open for early-season fishing. The BPA-funded program pays escalating rewards, including tagged fish worth up to $500, while helping reduce predation on young salmon and steelhead throughout the Columbia and Snake rivers.
