• Coquille woman serving life sentence dies at Coffee Creek prison (kval.com) — A 64-year-old woman serving a life sentence died Tuesday at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility in Wilsonville, with state police and the medical examiner now reviewing the case. Officials say she had been imprisoned since 2011 for killing an elderly neighbor, and standard procedures are underway to determine her cause of death.
• West Linn girls soccer aiming high once again (youroregonnews.com) — West Linn's girls soccer team has opened the season 1-2-1 but recently shut out cross-district rival Wilsonville 4-0, signaling they remain a threat in the Three Rivers League.
