Nephew Kills Uncle, Then Himself After Argument In Abington: Police

Authorities said the murder-suicide happened after the domestic dispute on Sunday morning in Glenside.

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — Two people are dead after a nephew shot his uncle and then killed himself on Sunday morning in a home with other family members inside, authorities said.

Abington Police responded at 11 a.m. on Sunday for a shooting in the 3000 block of Spruce Avenue in the township's Glenside section.

Police found that Brandon Mauer and his uncle Billy had been arguing when Mauer shot his uncle and then himself in the home, said the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office and the Abington Township Police Department.

William Mauer, 54, was found dead of a gunshot wound inside the home while 28-year-old Brandon Maurer was found suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

He was taken to Abington Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:39 a.m. on Sunday, authorities said.

Police said other family members in the residence were not injured.

A firearm owned by Mauer was recovered at the scene.
