• Luzerne County buying Red Cross building in Hanover Twp. for $1.75M (citizensvoice.com) — Luzerne County is preparing to buy the American Red Cross building on New Commerce Boulevard, right by Ashley, for $1.75 million to house emergency management staff and other county offices. The Red Cross plans to move its Ashley blood donation center from that site to Wilkes-Barre, about five miles away, consolidating local services while the county evaluates additional uses for the 60,000-square-foot building.
