800th Episode Of 'The Simpsons' Set In City: Phun Philly Phact
The iconic animated series marked a milestone with its 800th episode airing this past week. The episode featured a Holy Ghost Prep graduate.

PHILADELPHIA — "The Simpsons" — the long-running, iconic Fox Television show on a cartoon family — just reached another milestone.
The show featuring Homer and Bart Simpson, which coined popular phrases like "Eat My Shorts," celebrated its 800th episode, which aired on television this week.
And that episode was set in Philadelphia.

Holy Ghost Prep posted on Facebook that Matt Selman, an executive producer on the show, and Christine Nangle, a writer and producer on the show, were both friends with Dan McQuade, a 2000 Holy Ghost Prep graduate.
McQuade, who had written for "Philadelphia Magazine," "Deadspin," and other publications recently passed away from cancer at the age of 43.

He was honored in the episode with his animated likeness posing near the Phillie Phanatic.
Holy Ghost Prep is an independent Catholic high school founded by the Congregation of the Holy Spirit in Bensalem Township.
"The Simpsons" was created by Matt Groening and depicts the life of the Simpson family, which consists of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie.
Widely regarded as one of the most influential animated series of all time, "The Simpsons" has been named by Time as the greatest television series of the 20th century.
