Bensalem Man Held On $10M Bail In Sexual Assault Of Minors

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — A 27-year-old township man is in custody for the sexual assault of a minor, one of five victims across the country, authorities said.

Bail was set at $10 million for Valeed Anjum of Bensalem Township following an investigation into the sexual assault of a minor.

Authorities believe there may be additional victims who have not yet been identified.

On Thursday, Bensalem Police arrested Anjum, who detectives said used Snapchat and Roblox accounts to contact multiple juveniles between the ages of 10 and 15.

Police said the investigation identified at least five victims from across the United States.

Anjum allegedly sent explicit photographs to the minors he contacted and, in some instances, paid them to send explicit photographs of themselves to him, authorities said.

During an interview with detectives, Anjum allegedly admitted that earlier this year, he met with a 12-year-old girl in New Jersey and engaged in sexual acts with her.

The Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office is also charging Anjum in connection with that incident.

Anjum was charged by Bensalem Police with multiple counts of Unlawful Contact with a Minor, multiple counts of Sexual Abuse of a Child, Criminal Use of Communication Facility, and other related charges.

Anjum was arraigned before Magisterial District Justice Joseph Falcone, who set bail at 10 percent of $10 million. He was sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility.

Anjum, who is also believed to have used the alias “Puma,” used the Snapchat usernames “poomdoom69” and “brain.rotty," authorities said.

Anyone with information regarding either of these Snapchat accounts or reason to believe that your child was in contact with Anjum through Snapchat or Roblox should contact Bensalem Township Police Detective Ryan Kolb at 215-633-3746.
