Local Woman Claims First Place At National Pie Championship

Kristen Abbott, the Program Director at Pals For Life in Devon, was a big winner at the National Pie Championship in Orlando Florida on April 9, 2026.

A highly acclaimed baker who has appeared twice on Good Morning America with her pie and cookies, she took home a First and Third Place in Cream Pie, a Second and Third in Savory Pie and a Third Place in the Karo Syrup Category.

While baking is her hobby her real passion is working with therapy animals and volunteers at Pals For Life. There Kristen works with businesses and organizations to organize pet therapy visits, evaluates potential candidates for pet therapy and co-ordinates and attends each visit personally.
