• New Butler Senior Center enables county to provide more services for seniors (butlereagle.com) — A new Butler Senior Center on North Duffy Road in Butler Township will open September 1, offering expanded programs, technology access, and on-site support services for older residents. The $5 million renovation also houses Butler County’s Aging, Protective Services, and Veterans Resource Center offices, creating a central hub near VA Butler Healthcare and other key amenities. An open house is planned for August 27.

• Iran-Linked Video Details Ways to Assassinate Melania and Barron Trump (miamiherald.com) — Residents may recall that a 2024 rally in Butler where Donald Trump was wounded and a local attendee was killed, is now being mentioned again as new threats emerge against Melania and Barron Trump. Federal authorities are investigating an Iran-linked video that appears to outline ways to target the First Lady and her son, while the Secret Service reviews it as a potential threat.
