Canonsburg considering drone program (observer-reporter.com) — Canonsburg officials are weighing a formal public safety drone program after recent flooding exposed limits in the borough's small, weather-sensitive drones. Council will vote Sept. 14 on creating a shared, better-equipped drone unit for police and public works, potentially improving search-and-rescue and storm response across town.
   

2. Little Lake Theatre and Canon Theatre announce partnership (heraldstandard.com) — Canonsburg residents will soon have a new cultural hub as Little Lake Theatre becomes the theater-in-residence at the new Canon Theatre in the former Canonsburg Middle School building. The partnership will bring productions like "White Christmas," educational programs, and other events to town, while Little Lake continues shows at its North Strabane venue on Canonsburg Lake.
   

3. 12 places to celebrate Oktoberfest in Pennsylvania (keystonenewsroom.com) — Canonsburg will host the Pennsylvania Bavarian Oktoberfest Sept. 18–20, turning downtown streets into a lively mix of German music, American bands, carnival rides, and beer-friendly food. The roundup also lists 11 other Oktoberfest celebrations across Pennsylvania, but Canonsburg's event stands out as a large, family-friendly street festival close to home.
   

4. Three-Star 2028 Tight End Luke Sohyda Commits To Ohio State (buckeyesports.com) — A standout Canon-McMillan High School sophomore from Canonsburg, tight end Luke Sohyda, has verbally committed to play football for Ohio State's 2028 class. Ranked among Pennsylvania's top prospects, he earned his Buckeyes offer after a June camp and impressed as a two-way player during the 2025 season.
