• Hazleton Council adopts Greater Hazleton Area Thrive 2035 Comprehensive Plan (standardspeaker.com) — A new 10-year comprehensive plan for Hazleton, West Hazleton, and Hazle Township has been adopted without including Conyngham and many other Hazleton Area School District communities. Several residents criticized the plan as incomplete and not truly regional, arguing that excluded municipalities facing warehouse and data center growth should have a say. Officials say the plan was built with public input and could be amended later.
