5 Fun Things To Do This Weekend In Bucks County

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The "Dog Days of Summer" are here as people plan their final summer vacations before school starts for many students at the end of the month.

For those having a "staycation," there are plenty of activities to keep you busy this weekend in Bucks County from farm animals to roller coasters and lots more.

Here are five fun things to do in Bucks County this weekend:

Burpee Opens Historic Farm To The Public

The Burpee Company will open its Doylestown gardens and plant trial areas to the public on Saturday, August 15, for a rare behind the scenes glimpse at the magic of Burpee. Fordhook Farm, the historic home of Burpee Seed, will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the Burpee Open, a free event showcasing Burpee’s breeding and trial operations typically not open to the public at 105 New Britain Road in Doylestown Township.

Grange Fair 2026 Continues Through Sunday

The Middletown Grange Fair, a Bucks County tradition since 1948, runs through this weekend with full days of agricultural fun, food, and animals. Hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday to Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Amusement rides open at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and 12 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free; there is a $20 fee per car for parking. The event is again featuring everything people have come to know and love about the fair, including its famous chicken dinner (Thursday to Saturday only), 4-H barns filled with animals, fair food, community exhibition barns, and carnival rides and games.

River Dance Festival This Weekend In Bucks

Roxey Ballet Company will bring together professional dance companies, independent choreographers, emerging artists and the next generation of dancers this weekend as the 2026 River Dance Festival takes the stage August 15–16 at Mill Ballet School in New Hope. Featuring more than 30 performances across three distinct programs, the festival takes place Saturday, August 15 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday, August 16 at 2 p.m.

Sesame Place Celebrates Roller Coaster Day

Sesame Place Philadelphia, the Middletown Township amusement park, will celebrate National Roller Coaster Day on Sunday. The first 100 children who ride each of Sesame Place’s two roller coasters, Vapor Trail and Oscar’s Wacky Taxi, will receive an exclusive, roller coaster-themed enamel pin to celebrate the day.

Historian To Discuss Revolutionary War

As part of the Doylestown Celebrates USA 250! series, the Doylestown Historical Society and the Friends of Doylestown Library present "The Revolutionary War in Montgomery and Bucks County," a lecture by independent military historian Michael Jesberg. Montgomery and Bucks counties served as the strategic heart of the American Revolution. They functioned as critical operational zones, encampment sites, and vital supply networks for George Washington’s Continental Army as they fought to contain British-occupied Philadelphia.
