Black Bear Sighting Reported In Plumstead Township

This is the second bear sighting in Central Bucks County this month. Another bear was seen in nearby Solebury Township on Friday.

PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, PA — Residents living near the Fox Hunt subdivision and Bergstrom Road reported seeing a black bear in their backyards Wednesday morning, Plumstead Police said.

"The bear did not linger and continued on its way," police said. "We encourage residents to contact the Plumstead Township Police Department if they spot a bear in their area."

Police said black bears are generally wary of humans and rarely attack. However, if you do encounter a bear, please remember these important safety tips:
