River Valley Waldorf School to Host 31st Annual Auction Gala

Community supporters unite to support holistic education for children and families

The Tutor Shack is proud to support River Valley Waldorf School as a sponsor of its 31st Annual Auction Gala, taking place on Friday, May 15, 2026 from 5:00 to 10:00 PM at The Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm in Holicong, Pennsylvania.

The annual gala brings together families, educators, and community supporters for an evening of cocktails, entertainment, dinner, and auction fundraising, all in support of River Valley Waldorf School’s mission to provide a deeply enriching and balanced education for children.

Nestled on seven forested acres in Upper Black Eddy, River Valley Waldorf School serves students from early childhood through eighth grade and is accredited by the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America and the Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools. The school is widely recognized for its holistic approach to education, nurturing intellectual growth alongside creativity, emotional development, and a strong connection to the natural world.

A defining and widely recognized aspect of Waldorf education is its low-tech or no-tech philosophy, particularly in the early and middle grades. Rather than relying on screens, students engage in hands-on learning, storytelling, movement, art, and outdoor exploration. This intentional approach allows children to develop focus, imagination, and critical thinking skills while building a strong academic foundation free from digital distraction.

River Valley Waldorf School offers a range of programs including Garden Gate, a caregiver and child program, mixed-age early childhood classrooms for children ages 2 years 7 months through 6 years old, and a comprehensive curriculum for grades one through eight. The school’s faculty and staff are deeply committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, fostering a welcoming and supportive community for all families.

The Tutor Shack has supported students in person and virtually for over 30 years and is now expanding its services to include college counseling.
