DOYLESTOWN, PA — Central Bucks parents, guardians, and students in sixth grade and above are invited to continue the community conversation about screen time and digital wellness at a showing of "Screenagers Next Chapter: Addressing Youth Mental Health in the Digital Age" on Tuesday, May 12, at 7 p.m. at Lenape Middle School, 313 W. State St., Doylestown.

Pre-registration is not required, and childcare will not be available. The event is free of charge.

"Screenagers Next Chapter: Addressing Youth Mental Health in the Digital Age" follows physician and filmmaker Delaney Ruston as she finds herself at a loss on how to help her own teens as they struggle with their emotional well-being. Ruston sets out to understand these challenges in our current screen-filled society and how we as parents, guardians, and schools empower teens to overcome mental health challenges and build emotional agility, communication savvy, and stress resilience.

In the film, viewers witness Delaney as she finds her way from ineffective parenting to much-improved strategies and observe approaches in schools that provide strategies relevant beyond the classroom setting. Interwoven into the stories are surprising insights from brain researchers, psychologists, and thought-leaders that reveal evidence-based ways to support mental wellness among our youth.

The May 12 screening is the fourth in a series of recent CBSD events that bring attention to digital wellness in the district. "Screenagers: Elementary School Age Edition" was shown in March 2025; "Screen Sense: A Community Conversation on Digital Wellness" featured a discussion among a panel of educational and medical experts in May 2025; and "Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age" was shown in November 2025.
