Doylestown Twp. Manager Elected To Lead Global Association Of Municipal Leaders

DOYLESTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Doylestown Township Manager Stephanie Mason has been selected as president-elect of the ICMA, a global association of professional city and county managers and local government employees.

Mason will join the ICMA Executive Board as president-elect during the 2026 ICMA Annual Conference in Long Beach, California, on Oct. 20. She will then begin her term as ICMA president during the 2027 ICMA Annual Conference in Philadelphia, making history as the first ICMA president from Pennsylvania.

Mason has devoted nearly four decades to advancing professional local government management, said the ICMA. She has served as township manager for Doylestown Township since 2000, following 13 years as assistant manager, and oversees day-to-day administration for a growing community of nearly 18,000 residents.

A long-time ICMA Credentialed Manager, Mason has been active in the association for many years. She served on the ICMA executive board as Northeast regional vice president from 2016 to 2019 and has served on the ICMA credentialing advisory board since 2020. She also co-chaired the 2002 ICMA Host Committee.

Her service has been recognized with the ICMA Appreciation of Service Award and ICMA’s 35-year local government service recognition, as well as statewide honors including the Association of Pennsylvania Municipal Management Past President’s Award and the PSATS President’s Leadership Award.

Current ICMA President Mike Land and President-elect Andy Pederson welcomes Mason’s selection.

Throughout the selection process, the selection team said Mason demonstrated the experience, leadership, and member-centered perspective that will help guide ICMA in the year ahead.

The 21-member ICMA Executive Board consists of a president, a president-elect, immediate past president, and 18 regional vice presidents. There are six regions and each region is represented by three regional vice presidents. Regional vice presidents serve three-year terms.
