Teen Fight, DUI Arrests, Fleeing From Police: Central Bucks Regional Police Report

Police reported a busy month, including DUI arrests, retail thefts, underage drinking and trespassing cases.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Central Bucks Regional Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests during May, ranging from driving under the influence to theft, trespassing and underage drinking citations..

May 1

DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE, N. Main and N. Broad Streets, Doylestown Borough — A 46-year-old man from Doylestown was charged with DUI following police response to a two-vehicle accident. Police said the driver presented with signs of intoxication and field sobriety tests were conducted and legal blood draw obtained at Doylestown Hospital.

May 3

DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE, E. State and S. Main Streets, Doylestown Borough – A 59-year-old man from Newtown was charged with DUI following a traffic stop for lights not activated during a required time. The driver showed signs of intoxication, and field sobriety tests were conducted and legal blood draw obtained at Doylestown Hospital.

PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS, W. Oakland Avenue, Doylestown Borough – A 26-year-old man from North Wales was cited following police response for a man stumbling and collapsing.

May 5

HARASSMENT, 555 N. Broad Street (Center Square), Doylestown Borough – A 35-year-old man from Doylestown was cited following police response to a neighbor’s unsolicited harassment.

May 6

CRIMINAL TRESPASS AND DRUG VIOLATIONS, 54 E. Oakland Avenue, Doylestown Borough – A 38-year-old man from Bristol was charged following police response for an unresponsive man locked in a bathroom stall. The man was in possession of illicit drugs/paraphernalia and was awakened by police. He was arraigned and bail was set at $15,000 unsecured.

May 7

DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE, 480 N. Main Street (ACME), Doylestown Borough – A 60-year-old woman from Doylestown was charged following officer response to a reported reckless driver. Field sobriety tests and PBT were administered.

May 8

PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS, Park Avenue and N. Main Street, Chalfont Borough — A 23-year-old man from Chalfont was cited following police response for a wellbeing check of a man laying on the sidewalk.

May 10

PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS, West Oakland Avenue and South Hamilton Street, Doylestown Borough - A 21-year-old man from Fleetwood was cited following police response to a man lying in the middle of the street.

May 12

PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS, 409 E. Butler Avenue, New Britain Borough – A 49-year-old woman with no fixed abode was charged following officer response, for the second time in one day, for an intoxicated woman working as a live-in caregiver. The woman was fired from employment, arraigned and remanded to Bucks County Prison.

PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS, N. Clinton Street and Avenue A, Doylestown Borough – A 58-year-old man from Doylestown was cited following police response for a well being check of a passed out man on the lawn.

May 13

ORDINANCE VIOLATION, Belmont Square and Belmont Court, Doylestown Borough – A 21-year-old man from Bellmawr, N.J. was cited for soliciting without a permit on behalf of Full Circle Services.

May 15

RETAIL THEFT, FLEEING FROM POLICE, 480 N. Main Street (Acme Market), Doylestown Borough – A 39-year-old man, no fixed abode, was charged following police response for an unwanted subject who had been shoplifting from the store over the past several days. Police observed the man leaving store with stolen items. The man ignored police commands to stop and attempted to flee. He was arrested and cited. After release, he returned to the store and stole more items. An Arrest warrant was issued. A few days later, he was taken into custody for theft in another jurisdiction and was detained on CBRPD’s warrant. The man was arraigned, bail set at 10 percent of $20,000 and he was remanded to Bucks County Prison.

ORDINANCE VIOLATION, 495 East Street (7-Eleven), Doylestown Borough – A 37-year-old man with no fixed abode was cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana following police response for an unwanted subject.

UNDERAGE DRINKING, 25 West State Street, Doylestown Borough - A 16-year-old girl from Chalfont; two 14-year-old girls and a 16-year-old girl from Warrington; and a 15-year-old girl from Horsham were cited after being found on the roof of a building and in possession of alcoholic beverages.

May 16

UNDER AGE DRINKING, 235 S. Main Street and Hillside Avenue (Hillside Park), Doylestown Borough - A 19-year-old girl and a 17-year-old girl, both from Plumsteadville, were cited following a patrol check of the park after dusk. Both were in possession of an alcoholic beverage.

May 17

PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS, 18 N. Main Street (Starbucks), Doylestown Borough – A 22-year-old man from Bedford, N.H., was cited following police observing subject vomiting in street and displaying signs of intoxication.

ORDINANCE VIOLATION, 1 Printers Alley, Doylestown Borough – A 22-year-old woman from Perkasie was cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana following police response for a wellbeing being check of parked vehicle with headlights on and occupied by a person sleeping.

DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE, Skyline Drive, Chalfont Borough – A 40-year-old man from Chalfont was charged following police response to a traffic accident with an unattended parked vehicle. The man presented with signs of intoxication. Legal blood draw was obtained at Grandview Hospital.

THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING, RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY, 539 N. Main Street (Exxon), Doylestown Borough – A 34-year-old man from Doylestown was charged after stealing $726 cash from the store’s counter near a cash register.

May 18

CRIMINAL TRESPASS, FALSE ID TO LAW ENFORCEMENT, 10 N. Main Street (Starbucks), Doylestown Borough – A 13-year-old from Doylestown was charged following police response to disperse a group of unwanted juveniles causing a disturbance. The teen provided false identification to police.

TRESPASSING, 10 N. Main Street (Starbucks), Doylestown Borough – A 14-year-old girl from Warwick; a 13-year-old girl from Doylestown; and a 14-year-old girl from Doylestown were cited following police response to juveniles loitering where posted signs prohibit such action.

May 19

DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE, N. Main Street, Doylestown Borough – A 67-year-old woman with no fixed abode was charged following police response to a hit and run traffic accident. She presented with signs of intoxication. Field sobriety tests were administered and legal blood draw obtained at Doylestown Hospital.

ORDINANCE VIOLATION, N. Main Street and Veterans Lane, Doylestown Borough - A 27-year-old man from Philadelphia was cited for possessing a small amount of marijuana following a traffic stop for a nonfunctioning headlight. Additional citations were issued for multiple traffic violations.

May 23

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, 6 W. State Street, Doylestown Borough - A 13-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy, both of Chalfont, were cited when police were alerted to a juvenile disturbance involving two boys having each other in a headlock and bumping into other juveniles (crowd of 50) while maintaining the headlocks. A witness reported that the boys had thrown a soda bottle at a passing vehicle; no damage to the vehicle was reported.

May 25

DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE, East and North Streets, Doylestown Borough – A 66-year-old woman from Doylestown was charged following police response to a two-vehicle traffic accident. The driver displayed signs of intoxication. Field sobriety tests were conducted and legal blood draw obtained at Doylestown Hospital.

PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS, 13 Sunset Avenue (Chalfont Train Station), Chalfont Borough – A 30-year-old woman from Chalfont was cited following police dispatch for a wellbeing check of subject who fell and was laying on the ground.

ORDINANCE VIOLATION, Route 202 and South Main Street, Doylestown Borough - A 23-year-old woman from New Hope was cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana following a traffic stop for speeding.

May 26

TRESPASSING, 19 N. Main Street (Chambers 19 Bistro), Doylestown Borough - A 14-year-old boy from Doylestown was cited for trespassing following police response to juveniles on the roof of a business.

May 28

FRAUD/ALTER REG & OTHER CHARGES, E. Butler Avenue and Bristol Road, Chalfont Borough – A 47-year-old man from Morrisville was charge with the above offenses following a traffic stop for display of illegal plates.

May 29

DRUG VIOLATIONS, N. Main and Church Streets, Doylestown Borough - A 20-year-old man from Malvern was charged following a traffic stop for making a left turn on a red light. The man was in possession of illegal drugs and paraphernalia.

May 31

DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE, 216 S. Main Street, Doylestown Borough – A 28-year-old man from Cementon was charged following a traffic stop for speeding. The man presented with signs of intoxication, field sobriety tests administered and legal blood draw was obtained at Doylestown Hospital.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, Doylestown Borough – The following individuals were cited for public urination: a 21-year-old man from Sellersville; a 21-year-old man from Doylestown; a 20-year-old man from Doylestown; a 21-year-old from Forksville; a 34-year-old man from Jamison; a 23-year-old man from Lansdale; and a 22-year-old man from Perkasie.
