• Ribbon Cutting Brings new Albion Pharmacy Closer to Opening Day (erienewsnow.com) — Residents in Albion no longer need to drive to Edinboro, Girard, or Erie for prescriptions, as a new Colonial Family Pharmacy is opening on East State Street. After Albion’s only pharmacy closed in 2024, many—especially seniors—faced long trips for basic medications. LECOM Health leaders say the new site should ease those burdens as rural pharmacies keep disappearing.
   

• Principal retiring after 30-plus years with same Erie County district (goerie.com) — A longtime Union City educator who launched her career after graduating from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania is retiring June 30 after more than three decades in the district. She rose from student teacher to principal, helped start a weekend backpack food program, and guided Union City Elementary’s transition to a United Way community school. Colleagues credit her with nurturing students and mentoring future leaders.
