District attorney's office donates $19K drug forfeiture to Ephrata police K9 unit (local21news.com) — Ephrata residents can expect a new police K-9 on patrol by November, thanks to a $19,000 drug forfeiture donation from the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office. The funds will help outfit a pending cruiser for K-9 use, supporting local efforts against drug trafficking and expanding the Ephrata Police Department’s capabilities.
   

2. Jonathan Gerlach to appear in Delco courthouse for rescheduled hearing in human remains thefts (lancasteronline.com) — An Ephrata Borough resident is scheduled for a rescheduled preliminary hearing Friday in Delaware County on hundreds of charges tied to alleged thefts of human remains from a Philadelphia-area cemetery. Investigators say they later searched his Ephrata home and storage unit, where they reported finding more than 100 bones, while he remains jailed on high bail.
   

3. Two-Vehicle Crash in Early Morning Leaves One Car Flipped, No Injuries (newsline.com) — Early Thursday morning in Ephrata, a two-vehicle crash left one car on its side but, fortunately, caused no injuries or entrapments. The collision happened around 5:13 a.m., with first responders arriving quickly, and investigators are still determining what led to the incident.
   

4. Status quo as second half of section play kicks off: L-L League volleyball roundup for April 16 matches (lancasteronline.com) — Ephrata boys volleyball dropped a tight four-set match at Penn Manor but continued its season of close contests behind strong play from setter Brayden Fries. The Mountaineers will also represent the L-L League at Conestoga Valley’s tournament this Saturday, giving local fans another nearby chance to see them in action.
