• Drew's Family Restaurant building in Forest Hills demolished (triblive.com) — A longtime Forest Hills fixture, Drew’s Family Restaurant on Ardmore Boulevard was demolished June 1, leaving only its familiar roadside sign. The beloved breakfast and burger spot had closed in early 2024 after a failed sale, and its future remains uncertain as the current owners may look to sell the now-vacant lot.
   

• Pa. Senate votes down proposal to create independent cannabis regulatory board (triblive.com) — State Sen. Jay Costa of Forest Hills joined a bipartisan majority that narrowly defeated a bill to create an independent board overseeing Pennsylvania’s medical marijuana and hemp-derived products. Lawmakers split over whether the new board would improve safety or just strip authority from the governor, leaving the current Department of Health oversight in place for now.
