• Schuylkill County Students Named to Commonwealth University Spring 2026 Dean's List (skooknews.com) — Frackville families can celebrate several local students earning spots on Commonwealth University’s Spring 2026 Dean’s List, including Brymel Antalosky, Emily Conley, Gabrielle Dinger, Noel Drum, Alexa Fletcher, Clarity Johnstone, Olivia McGlade, and Sophia Wittig. The honor recognizes students from Schuylkill County who achieved at least a 3.5 GPA while carrying a full-time course load.
   

• Cases closed against two teens who fired on state troopers in high-speed chase across central Pa. (pennlive.com) — A multi-county police chase that passed I-81 near Frackville and ended by the Walmart in St. Clair has now led to long prison terms for two of the teens involved. Prosecutors say the group fired repeatedly at state troopers during the February 2025 pursuit, and two remaining suspects still face pending cases.
   

• Residents pack meeting to talk ICE facility, data centers, BRADS Landfill (republicanherald.com) — Schuylkill County residents, including a Frackville neighbor from Walnick Manor, packed a commissioners’ meeting to challenge an ICE facility plan, new data centers, and a landfill expansion they fear could harm local communities. Speakers urged stronger, resident-focused ordinances, while county leaders defended data centers as potential tax stabilizers and outlined the county’s relatively strong financial position.
