1. AHN Grove City hiring event supports former Sharon Regional employees (wfmj.com) — AHN Grove City will hold another hiring event Monday, Nov. 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., offering a nearby option for workers displaced by Sharon Regional's closure. Recruiters interviewed candidates Friday with the possibility of same-day offers. Applicants should bring a resume, and online applications are also available. 
2. Case football's playoff mode amps up with Grove City next (news-herald.com) — Grove City hosts Case Western Reserve at 1 p.m. Nov. 7 at Robert E. Thorn Field, with postseason hopes riding on the finish. Grove City is out of NCAA playoff contention, but two wins could put it in the running for the Opendorse Bowl Series. Case arrives with five straight victories.
3. Finalists to face off at Elevator Pitch Competition (gcc.edu) — Eighteen Grove City College students will have two minutes each to pitch business and social-service ideas at a free public competition Nov. 10. The finals begin at 7 p.m. in Crawford Hall Auditorium, where proposals include sharing surplus dining hall food with neighbors in need. Audience members can help choose a Fan Favorite winner.
4. John Anthony DeCarlo, New Castle, PA (wkbn.com) — John Anthony DeCarlo of New Castle, whose surviving sisters include Carmine DeCarlo of Grove City, died Nov. 4 at 83. His family remembers an animated storyteller and devoted caregiver to his parents. Visitation is Nov. 9 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the DeCarbo funeral home in New Castle, followed by a service.
