Harrisburg Senior Living Resident Lives Out Racing Dream at Williams Grove Speedway

Lifelong Racing Fan Blair Isenberg, The Terraces at Capitol Village Resident, Enjoys Pace Truck Ride-Along

For Blair Isenberg, a lifelong passion for racing has never slowed down. The Terraces at Capitol Village resident recently checked off a long-awaited bucket list item with a pace truck ride-along at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa. – proving it’s never too late to pursue a high-octane dream.

For more than 50 years, Isenberg has been a devoted racing fan, spending countless weekends at Williams Grove Speedway immersed in the sport he loves. During the recent visit, he shared stories of past races with the venue’s staff members while taking in the energy and vibrant atmosphere that has always made his time at the track so memorable.

Isenberg’s passion for racing began at age 5, when he attended his first race with his father. As a young man, he owned a muscle car that fueled a lifelong love of speed and performance. Over the years, Isenberg spent much of his free time following the racing circuit, cheering on his favorite drivers and driving sports cars – giving up the keys to his Ford Mustang just last year. After more than a decade away from the track due to health challenges, the visit to Williams Grove Speedway was especially meaningful.

“Our team wanted to give Blair the opportunity to reconnect with something that has brought him joy throughout his life,” said Courtney Lill, executive director at The Terraces at Capitol Village. “From coordinating every detail to making sure he could fully experience the excitement of race night, we were proud to help make this dream a reality.”

During the outing at Williams Grove Speedway, Isenberg enjoyed trackside access, received signed merchandise from drivers and took in all the traditions he fondly remembered – right down to the pizza and the smell of racing fuel. In his words, “it was a dream come true.”
