Dwennimmen Connects African Dance, Cultural Heritage and Wellness in Harrisburg (witf.org) — Harrisburg residents can look forward to Dwennimmen African Dance Community's Soulfit Health and Wellness Festival returning October 24 at Sara Lindemuth School, blending movement, culture and community health. Artistic Director Lark Daniel also leads weekly African dance classes and school-based programs, showing how accessible dance and drumming can build wellness, cultural pride and stronger neighborhood connections right here in the city.

From Ashes to New shares 'Love Me' (themusicuniverse.com) — From Ashes to New, a Pennsylvania rock band, is bringing a hometown holiday show to Harrisburg's Capital City Music Hall on Friday, December 11, with a second show added Saturday, December 12 after the first sold out in pre-sale. Both nights will feature support from Zero 9:36 and Sage, giving local fans an early chance to hear their new single "Love Me" live.
   

3. Northern wide receiver earns PennLive's Player of the Week award, presented by BuildFreedom.US (pennlive.com) — High school football fans around Harrisburg will see plenty of familiar names in PennLive's latest Player of the Week voting, where Northern's Tristan Wenrich topped a crowded Mid-Penn field. A Harrisburg High standout, Jaiyon Lewis, also made the list, underscoring how many Central Pennsylvania programs are drawing regional attention as the season reaches its midpoint.
   

4. Families, snow shovels and kindness drive WGAL's 8 Who Care nominees (wgal.com) — A Harrisburg volunteer is being honored for turning empty local apartments into fully furnished homes for families experiencing homelessness, through Brethren Housing Association. She's one of WGAL's "8 Who Care" nominees, alongside groups like Lancaster Snow Angels and the Willow Valley Loomers, all recognized for hands-on community kindness across the Susquehanna Valley.
   

5. Pennsylvania cattle farmers grapple with rising costs and market challenges amid packaging facility changes (fox43.com) — From Harrisburg, state officials and farmers are warning that rising feed, fuel, and processing costs are squeezing Pennsylvania's 1.4 million-head cattle industry, including operations around the capital region. With a major JBS plant shifting away from beef processing, many producers now face longer hauls and thinner margins, raising concerns about whether family farms can stay viable for future generations.
