• Penn State Health offering free neck, head cancer screenings (abc27.com) — Free head and neck cancer screenings are being offered in Hershey on April 22 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Penn State Health’s University Physicians Center on Campus Drive. Residents who smoke, have persistent throat or mouth issues, or other listed symptoms are urged to call 1-800-243-1455 to register and get checked.
   

• Homeschool rates surge in Pennsylvania with biggest rise in some central counties (local21news.com) — Families in and around Hershey are turning to homeschooling in greater numbers, and some are heading to Hershey Gardens for hands-on science days like the recent Spring Homeschool Day focused on aquatic habitats. The statewide surge in home education is being supported by local co-ops, field trips, and flexible learning that can happen anywhere—from gardens and parks to vacations and weekends.
   

• PennFuture June 4 Energy Dialogue 2026 - Growing A Sustainable Energy Economy In Pennsylvania, Hershey (blogspot.com) — A statewide clean-energy policy conference is coming to Hershey Country Club on June 4, bringing about 150 policymakers, labor leaders, and advocates to town. Climate and energy journalist David Roberts will keynote PennFuture’s Energy Dialogue 2026, which focuses on shifting Pennsylvania’s economy toward renewables, union jobs, and lower energy costs. Residents can register online to attend.
