Hatboro Woman Passed $850K In Bad Checks: PD

HATBORO, PA — The Hatboro Borough Police Department has charged a 34-year-old borough woman with passing over $850,000 in bad checks in a recent fraud scheme.

Hatboro Police took 34-year-old Jessica Babb into custody on Monday after she turned herself in.

Police are alerting the public about the bad checks and is asking anyone who believes they may have suffered from the fraud to reach out to them.

"We encourage anyone with information to come forward and assist us in our ongoing investigation," police said.

On July 24, police received information about an individual who had issued numerous bad checks.

After an investigation, detectives identified the individual allegedly responsible as Jessica Babb.

Police said it was discovered that Babb allegedly passed four bad checks, totaling $850,225.

After turning herself in following an arrest warrant issued for Babb, she was released on $100,000 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing is pending.
