Officials said the borough hand-delivered notices to all homes on West Monument Avenue informing them of the upcoming installation.

In March, a speed study was conducted on the road.

Hatboro Police performed the study from Feb. 6 to Feb. 12 on West Monument Avenue between the western entrance to Memorial Park and the West Monument Ave Bridge, which will be closed for about two years due to a Montgomery County bridge replacement project.

The police department said that Pennsylvania municipal law enforcement is not permitted to conduct speed enforcement using a speed timing device on a motor vehicle until it is traveling at least 11mph over the posted speed limit.
