Vendor Change At Hatboro Memorial Pool

At its recent meeting, the Hatboro Borough Council approved Sparta Convenience Store taking over the pool snack stand for this year.

HATBORO, PA — The borough didn't want those going to the Hatboro Memorial Pool to go snackless.

Each year, borough officials ensure that a vendor will be providing snacks to pool goers who want to sip a drink or eat a snack while soaking up the sun.

Last year's vendor was lined up once again for this pool season but changed their mind and pulled out at the last minute.

That's when the local owners of the Sparta Convenience Store came to the rescue.

At its meeting last Monday, the Hatboro Borough Council awarded Sparta the contract to operate the snack stand for this pool season.

"Because the snack stand is a big part of the pool and the members and guests enjoy having the snack stand and the convenience, staff began to reach out to other local businesses to see if they were interested," officials said.

Sparta answered the call, saying they were interested.

After ordering equipment and obtaining insurance and other requirements, Sparta was able to open the same time the pool opened full time — and right in the nick of time.
