Shapiro, pressure from customers and stakeholders (glensidelocal.com) — Residents in Jenkintown and across southeastern Pennsylvania will not see PECO’s proposed 12.5% rate hike, which would have added about $34 to monthly bills. After pushback from lawmakers representing areas including Jenkintown and conversations with Gov. Shapiro, PECO withdrew the plan and says it will focus on affordability and essential system investments instead.
