Johnstown Police investigating after dog found shot in the head (wtaj.com) — Johnstown police are investigating after a dog was found on a Russell Avenue back porch with a gunshot wound to its head and taken for emergency veterinary care. Officers are reviewing surveillance video, interviewing neighbors in the Moxham area, and asking anyone with information to contact the Johnstown Police Department to help determine what happened.
   

2. Is Johnstown Central Park project ahead of schedule? City leaders say yes! (wjactv.com) — Johnstown’s Central Park makeover is running ahead of schedule, with officials expecting the park to reopen to the public later this summer, possibly before August 31. Crews are installing sidewalks, lighting, landscaping, and a new fountain, and city leaders say they hope to mark the reopening with a community celebration once a firm date is set.
   

3. The Rocket Blasters bring the soundtrack (statecollege.com) — A central Pennsylvania cover band, The Rocket Blasters, includes drummer Bernie Oravec from Johnstown and regularly plays shows from Johnstown to Lewistown. They’re headlining the Bellefonte Cruise with a live, no‑tracks rock set built around familiar hits from the ’60s through today, aiming to keep crowds dancing with a gritty, pub‑band feel.
   

4. Western Pennsylvania man charged with trying to kill US Marshals Service officers (wpxi.com) — A Somerset County man has been indicted in Johnstown on 14 federal counts, including attempting to kill U.S. Marshals Service officers during an April incident. Federal prosecutors and ATF officials say they will aggressively pursue and punish attacks on law enforcement, noting the charges could carry a potential life sentence and heavy fines.
