Drones may soon deliver essential goods and services in Pennsylvania (wtaj.com) — Johnstown is at the center of a new drone bill that just passed both chambers of the state legislature and now awaits Gov. Shapiro’s signature. The measure would base drone research and delivery of critical goods in Cambria and Somerset counties, potentially bringing new aviation jobs, educational opportunities, and economic growth to the region.

Inside the art of making, maintaining ejection seats for U.S. military jets, helicopters (washingtontimes.com) — In Johnstown, more than 170 workers at Martin-Baker America meticulously build and maintain ejection and crashworthy seats that have saved thousands of U.S. military aviators’ lives. The story highlights the precision, human skill, and life-or-death responsibility inside this old steel town’s high-tech facility, underscoring its importance to both national defense and the local economy.
   

4. Pennsylvania Doubles Pittsburgh Rail Service Starting Nov. 18 (mychesco.com) — Johnstown residents will soon have twice-daily Amtrak Pennsylvanian trains connecting Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, Philadelphia, and New York, starting November 18. Backed by more than $220 million in state and federal funding, the added round trip promises more flexible travel options and better east–west connections across Pennsylvania for work, school, and leisure.
