Reynolds. Local officials, historians and descendants celebrated his deep Lancaster roots and national significance, after grassroots fundraising paid for extensive repairs. The refreshed site is expected to remain the cemetery’s most visited stop for history-minded locals and tourists alike.

2. Outdoors calendar for week starting Sept. 20, 2026 (lancasteronline.com) — If you love the outdoors around Lancaster, this week’s calendar is packed with trap shoots, archery nights, birding trips and guided hikes leaving from Buchanan Park. Clubs across Southern Lancaster County, Columbia, Manheim, Elizabethtown and Paradise are opening their ranges and trails to the public, many for just a few dollars. It’s an easy way to meet neighbors while exploring local woods and fields.

3. Two Lancaster men arrested for altercation escalating into shooting; one injured: police (local21news.com) — Two Lancaster men face assault charges after an argument at a Manheim Township home allegedly turned into a shooting, leaving one man with a gunshot wound treated at Lancaster General Hospital. Police say surveillance video shows an initial physical attack with a thrown can, followed by gunfire that struck a nearby car before both men were arrested on serious charges.

4. Lancaster County: One killed, five injured in Route 30 crash (wgal.com) — A serious crash on Route 30 in East Lampeter Township, Lancaster County, left one person dead and five injured Friday afternoon near the Red Lobster by the Route 462 split. A private school bus flipped onto its side and a red SUV was heavily damaged, shutting down eastbound Route 30 and Lincoln Highway while investigators worked to determine what happened.

5. Rescuers Save Bat Frozen To Side Of House For 2 Days — Then Realize She's Special (thedodo.com) — A juvenile bat found hanging on a downtown Lancaster porch for two days was rescued by Raven Ridge Wildlife Center and discovered to be a critically endangered northern long-eared bat. After stabilizing the severely dehydrated animal, staff transferred her to a specialized bat rehabilitation center for long-term care. Locals are encouraged to support both organizations’ work with donations to help protect vulnerable wildlife in Lancaster County.
