Charles Boehm Middle School Threat Investigated

Lower Makefield Township responded after two people were spotted peering into the windows of the Pennsbury school on Wednesday.

FAIRLESS HILLS, PA — The Lower Makefield Township Police Department responded to the Charles Boehm Middle School after two people were spotted peering into school windows on Wednesday afternoon.

Pennsbury Schools Superintendent Thomas A. Smith and Charles Boehm Principal Stephanie Hultquist sent a letter to the middle school community about the threat.

They said that two people were observed at Charles Boehm Middle School looking into two windows and attempting to gain access to the building.

After being reported to the middle school office, the Lower Makefield Township Police Department placed the building into a hold at 1:05 p.m. on Wednesday.

The hold meant that students and staff were able to continue the instructional day, but that no visitors were allowed to enter, and no one was permitted to leave.

At 1:17 p.m., Lower Makefield Police lifted the hold after determining that there was no threat to the building, and that the two people were not from the area and not aware of school visitor protocols.

"Our staff and students did an excellent job following our established security protocols," school officials said.
