Murray asked where his mother was and Myers mumbled that she was inside. Murray indicated that Myers had blood on his face, the complaint states.
Myers walked up to the home and unlocked the door. Murray pushed past Myers to look for his mother, the complaint read, where he located her in an upstairs bedroom with several ties around her neck.
The complaint said that Murray looked back and saw Myers standing at the bottom of the stairs with his arms across the railing with a hand on each side blocking the way down.
Murray told police that Myers was acting in an "aggressive manner" so he couldn't escape the home and he was afraid that Myers was going to hurt him, the complaint states.
Murray said he struck Myers on the side of the head with his phone so he could push his way past him. He said once he got past Myers, he fell out the front door and yelled to his wife to call the police, the complaint said.
Myers was given verbal commands by police directing him to exit the home. Myers complied, exited the home, and was taken into custody.
