Fire Cancels Class At Marple Newtown High School
The fire broke out early in the morning.

NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA β An early-morning fire canceled class Thursday at Marple Newtown High School.
Firefighters were dispatched to the school at 5:15 a.m., when the fire alarm went off.
Crews found heavy smoke in the basement, where an overhead sprinkler extinguished a fire in the computer room, according to the Newtown Square Fire Company. Firefighters stayed to ventilate smoke from the building.

The fire broke out in the Technology Education Department, according to school officials.
Firefighters shared a photo of charred computer equipment. But the cause of the fire wasn't immediately available.

No injuries were mentioned.
Class was canceled Thursday for cleaning and recovery efforts.
"At this time, all after school sports and scheduled events will continue as planned," school officials said in an advisory.
