• DCCC Grant Removes Tuition Barrier for Manufacturing Training (mychesco.com) — A new $300,390 grant based out of Media will let lower-income adults earn tuition-free manufacturing training while working toward a GED, then continue into an applied science associate degree. Delaware County Community College's Manufacturing Pathways Initiative aims to fill regional workforce gaps with credentials in CNC manufacturing and computer-aided drafting offered at its nearby campuses. 
• Havertown man held on all charges in disturbing messages left for sheriff (delcotimes.com) — A Havertown man accused of leaving racist, threatening voicemails for Delaware County Sheriff Siddiq Kamara has been held on all charges and will face arraignment at the County Courthouse in Media on Sept. 16. Prosecutors argue the messages meet the standard for terroristic threats and ethnic intimidation, while the defense claims he thought he was responding to scammers, not targeting the sheriff personally.
