• Mercersburg Academy names Coghlan head field hockey coach (localnews1.org) — Mercersburg Academy has hired veteran collegiate coach Jomara Coghlan to lead its field hockey program, bringing nearly two decades of college coaching experience to town. She’ll arrive this summer to guide the Storm into the 2026–27 season, with a strong track record of turning programs around and emphasizing character, resilience, and leadership in student-athletes. 
• Two charged in Wednesday afternoon domestic near Mercersburg - Tri-State Alert (tristatealert.com) — State police responded Wednesday afternoon to a domestic incident in Montgomery Township, in the Mercersburg area, that led to charges against two people. Investigators say a dispute involving a gun, a vehicle being rammed, and a weapon later hidden in a ceiling resulted in felony aggravated assault and multiple misdemeanor counts, with both individuals now free on unsecured bail.
• Victoria R. Fisher 1946-2026 (fcfreepresspa.com) — A former Mercersburg-area resident, Victoria R. Fisher, who graduated from James Buchanan High School in Mercersburg, has passed away at 79 in North Carolina. Family and friends with local ties can attend services Tuesday, June 16, at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home in Chambersburg, with burial following in Lurgan Township and options to livestream or send memorial tributes online.
